Much has been achieved in the fight to control the numbers of road casualties. Despite the rise in traffic levels, the figures have remained broadly constant over the years with the proportion of collisions classified as serious being dramatically reduced. Health authorities, police and other emergency services, road safety professionals and highway engineers all work to reduce the toll further

Cornwall Strategy for Powered Two Wheelers  
A new strategy aimed at improving motorcycling safety and reducing the alarmingly high number of people killed and injured in accidents involving motorcycles in Cornwall has been approved by members of the County Council's Executive. Refer to Website for links to the document.

Road Casualty Reduction Strategy  
Figures for 2004 indicate that 44 people died on Cornwall's roads, 220 were seriously injured and 2453 suffered slight injuries, a detailed breakdown was not available when this document was prepared, so this document is based on data from previous years.
